The Lord is righteous in all His ways,
Gracious in all His works.
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,

He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them.
The Lord preserves all who love Him,

Lord God,

May our mouths speak Your praise and may all flesh bless Your Holy Name forever and ever. May all Your works praise You, Lord, and all Your saints bless You. You are good to all and Your tender mercies are over all You works. May we extol You, our God and King, and bless Your Name forever and ever.

Lord, how blessed we are to live in America. Thank You, Father, for guiding this nation from its birth. Now, even as we walk in the midst of darkness, may Your hand be near that we may grasp ahold of You and find our way back to being the country You have called us to be. Help each of us to do our part by affecting our own sphere of influence in a way that helps others draw close to You.

Be near to all our military men and women, Lord, and fulfill the desires of those who fear You. Hear their cries of distress and loneliness, of fear and sadness. Preserve them, Father, and teach them to endure by trusting in You. Help our nation to honor its veterans and active duty military men and women by showing them love and caring for their needs.

Lord, help us to rejoice in our Maker, to praise Your Name, and to bless You, at all times. May Your praise be forever in our mouths. For only You are worthy of all honor, glory, praise, and blessing. In the Name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered his prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His Manifold Blessings upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.



AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and gather them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission.
