Ahead of tonight's debate, Jeb Bush's team is circulating some suggested talking points in hopes that supporters and donors in Cleveland will keep singing from the same song sheet.
Clearly, there's a big focus on Bush's maturity, experience and preparation for a long campaign.
"Jeb is in this for the long haul not to score cheap political points at the expense of opponents, but to talk about why he has the leadership skills and record to be president," the document says.
Later, the team adds: "Jeb is focused on delivering a message that will resonate with voters over the long haul rather than flash in the pan moments."
Get it? The long haul. Long. Looooong.

Its a long haul for the rest of us to have to watch this boob for the next 15 months or so. He won’t even make it through the closed primaries. He’ll win the open primaries, hands down, because the Democrats will vote for him.
This is a “Burning Bush” that will be consumed.
Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
I notice illegal immigration seemed to slip his mind.
“not to score cheap political points at the expense of opponents”
Hilarious given the article out on POLITICO where Jeb is calling Trump an a**hole.
Were his talking points in Spanish?
A Mexican taking over for a Kenyan. Wonderful.
Its obvious that America does not want him.
It is telling that the elites DO want him.
“A Mexican taking over for a Kenyan. Wonderful.”
Pff, he’s no Mexican. He wishes he were a Mexican, he probably thinks he is a Mexican, but he isn’t, which makes him that much more pathetic.
Ha.
IOW ignore his boring inarticulateness and slow-wittedness.
Not a good sign when even the WashComPost recognizes that Yeb can bore the tits off a cigar store Indian.
(clunk clunk: listen for that tonight.)
“... talk about why he has the leadership skills and record to be president”.
Lots of folks on that stage tonight have similar or better experience & record.
I guess he doesn’t want to talk about the issues.
But then, it is just a beauty contest & a test to see who doesn’t fall down, fart loudly, curse, or spit when they speak.
How long until Jeb says, “I think Hillary would make a great president” a-la John McCain?
