Ash is an ass in my opinion ....... Every member of the military and trained civilian employees should be allowed at the very least to carry a sidearm if they want to, concealed or not.

Thanks again JJ .....stay safe !

Anyone who doubts that there were those who wanted (want) to prosecute the guy are fooling themselves - I’d wager that if West hadn’t blown this whistle, they would have tried to go the “quiet route on this guy until after they ginned up a good rhetoric on how great it was to conduct the Courts Martial.

“...no service member has been charged..”

operative word “has”. See what the future bring since they are still investigating.

“unless they are in a combat zone” Where does the military say that is? We have been attacked numerous times on US soil, and in countless nations, by the same foe - jihadists.

Bugger the career. He’s going home to his family And he has a future in politics should he choose that path.

*“At this time we can confirm no service member has been charged with an offense,” the Navy said in a statement.*

I'm sorry but that is not the same thing as "We" (aka the Navy) are NOT filing charges. It just says at this time.

Just thought of something. A bad fitness report or a flag officer’s letter of reprimand could be in the Lt Cdr’s personnel file in a twinkling, as much a career-killer as trial before the mast. Directed from above if you get my drift.

This officer fired righteous shots & having done so is making the top brass look like real idiots. “Twitter backlash” didn’t exist a decade ago, but it has an effect similar to seeing angry peasants with torches, pitchforks, & rope.

Arrrghhh!!! NO!!!! Come on, you cowards at the upper levels, charge him!!! I thought for sure you were going to push the long-awaited button. Sneak around and find some other way to go after the guy, people won’t care. Come on...do it.

Webb and Fox said the Navy was evaluating it, which they must. West said they were doing it, and he was wrong.

Gov. Haslam of Tenn. should give him a medal or award. I don’t know what state medals or awards are possible in Tenn., but somebody should start a movement to get Haslam to do this.

Maybe good news. They said he hasn’t been charged, not that he wouldn’t be charged.

Jim Webb posted this too.

Looks like Col. West and Webb embarrassed the Valerie Jarrett navy into not going ahead with this.

Webb tweeted THEY WERE DOING IT: “Navy charging LCDR Tim White w/ a crime for trying to defend our sailors & Marines in #Chattanooga? He deserves a medal, not an indictment.”

Notice the "?" at the end of his question? He went on to tweet:

"Before tweeting last night, we confirmed with a defense official that the Navy was seriously considering charging LCDR Timothy White."

See that word "considering"?

Col. West REPEATED A TEXT MESSAGE HE RECEIVED saying the Navy would prosecute. Are you calling COLONEL WEST A LIAR?

I said he needs a new source because his was wrong.

Looks like Col. West and Webb embarrassed the Valerie Jarrett navy into not going ahead with this.

Or the Navy considered it, as they had to if it was a violation of the regulations, and concluded like everyone else that it would be a terrible idea.

They were really pretty quick to shoot down the idea.
