I believe what is happening is the result of techological revolution. We saw the start of it in 1994 when the Republicans took both houses of Congress.

We also saw it in 1912, when the independent candidacy of *BullMoose Party* former president Theodore Roosevelt saw the Republican Party come in at third place in a national election, and in some states [including Arizona] the Repubs came in fourth, behind the Socialists.

Of course that also put Woodrow Wilson into the White House, and that gave us the First World War and the resulting nationalization of the American railroads under the US Railway Administration as a part of the war effort, leading to the *Jim Crow* railroad segregation policies and institutionalized racism in the United States, the Income Tax, the Federal Reserve banking system and conscription of Americans as draftee slave soldiers.

It remains to be seen as to whether Wilson's administration had anything to do with propagating the *Spanish Flu* influenza epidemic. But I wouldn't be surprised.
