Is that the same Ronald Reagan who appointed Trump’s older sister to the Federal judicial Bench. Who Trump father kept the picture of over his desk and who Trump repeatedly took picture with? That Ronald Reagan?
If what’s related here forms the basis for his campaign (and tomorrow night’s “debate,”) the rest of them will be sucking hind tit (with the exception of Ted Cruz). These values are unassailable. If you don’t want these things, you need to move to another country.
Don’t see much wrong there.
And they matter how or why? It’s the Trump that was less than flattering of Ronaldus in his oh so famous book.
Oh and it was the Trump that more recently explained that America does better economically under Democrats than Republicans. Ronald Reagan was a Republican president.
I don’t care about Trump’s past views. I care about his current positions. I suspect there are some that will disappoint us but there’s enough to say Ya Hoo.
Not a terrible list, considering. The trade protectionism is just bad economics. I have no idea if these are really Trump’s positions. Anyone putting together such a list should have cited sources.
I can vouch for some of the things on the list because he DID and has been saying those things in public since 2012.
Things like — Confronting China for currency manipulation and Mexican illegal aliens, and making countries pay for asking us to intervene militarily.
Not sure if the rest are accurate regarding what he really believes in.
On point number 11: The Social Security fund would be solvent and robust if LBJ hadn’t stolen the funds by dumping then into the common treasury. If The Donald were to organize a road trip to go pi$$ on LBJ’s grave, I’d sign up!

Some true, but some are flat out lies.
One example is the claim about Trump not liking Obamacare, which is true, but he didn’t like it because it didn’t go far enough. He supports a single payer system.

I don't think this will work when American forces overseas are attacked, but this is not a dealbreaker for me.
2.) Speaking of the military, Trump wants America to have a strong military again.
Let's figure out how to pay for it, and then do it.
3.) Trump wants a strong foreign policy and believes that it must include 7 core principles (which seem to support my comment in the last point):

4.) Trump believes that terrorists who are captured should be treated as military combatants, not as criminals like the Obama administration treats them.
I don't think any other GOP candidate (except maybe Rand Paul?) thinks otherwise. Citation please.
5.) Trump makes the point that China’s manipulation of their currency has given them unfair advantage in our trade dealings with them. He says we must tax their imports to offset their currency manipulation,
This is pure protectionism, and it purely sucks. Dealbreaker.
6.) Trump wants passage of NOPEC legislation (No Oil Producing and Exporting Cartels Act – NOPEC – S.394), which would allow the government to sue OPEC for violating antitrust laws. According to Trump, that would break up the cartel. He also wants to unleash our energy companies to drill domestically thereby increasing domestic production creating jobs and driving domestic costs of oil and gas down while reducing dependence on foreign oil.
"NOPEC" - silly and unenforceable. Domestic drilling - I agree, and so do the rest of the GOP candidates.
7.) Trump believes a secure border is critical for both security and prosperity in America. He wants to build a wall to stop illegals from entering and put controls on immigration. He also wants to enforce our immigration laws and provide no path to citizenship for illegals.
He has also said that Romney's immigration policy was inhuman, and that illegals who are working should be allowed to stay. So, will the real Trump please stand up??
8.) Trump wants a radical change to the tax system He wants to change the personal income tax to: · Up to $30,000 taxed at 1% · From $30,000 to $100,000 taxed at 5% · From $100,000 to $1,000,000 taxed at 10% · $1,000,000 and above taxed at 15%
This would put about $5K a year more into my pocket, but combined with (2) and (11) it will make the Obama deficits look manageable.
9.) Trump wants Obamacare repealed.
I say so too. So do all the other major GOP candidates. (And so did Boehner and McConnell when they last were running for office.)
10.) Trump wants spending reforms in Washington, acknowledging that America spends far more than it receives in revenue. He has said he believes that if we don’t stop increasing the national debt once it hits $24 trillion it will be impossible to save this country.
Combine (2), (8), and (11) and Trump had better have access to a magic dwarf who can spin straw into gold, because the numbers JUST DO NOT WORK.
11.) Even though he says we need to cut spending, he does not want to harm those on Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security....he wants to build the economy up so that we have the revenue to pay those costs without cutting the benefits to the recipients.
Trump shows an apparent ignorance of how demographics work here, or else he's just another kick-the-can-down-the-road guy.
12.) Trump also wants reform of the welfare state saying that America needs “a safety net, not a hammock.” And he wants a crackdown on entitlement fraud.

17.) Trump’s view on same-sex marriage is that marriage is between a man and a woman, but he also believes that this is a states rights issue, not a federal issue.

So do I, where the evidence is incontrovertible.
I like everything on that list. I have thought for years that we should be paid by other nations that use our military. The reason Europe has been able to afford social welfare is they don’t have to spend so much on defence, they just use us.
