Trump is a counter-puncher, and he is great at it. He has a fighter’s instinct and he just don’t care what you think of him.
Cruz understands that and will not throw any punches Trumps way. He will let Trump hammer those who are desperate to land a blow.
Cruz may have to eventually go after him, but right now is not the time. Let the Honey Badger of the GOP nomination take on everyone who wants to fight him.

Cruz is (I think) the ONLY candidate who has not said anything denigrating the other GOP candidates. (ref. Reagan rule) ...Cruz sticks to his message and criticism from the others just rolls off of his back like water on a duck. I don’t believe he’s forgetting the attacks from others; just waiting for the proper time to respond.
Trump has socked others only after they have bashed him or his supporters.
