Had a problem a while ago with someone leeching off my wifi. Had to have my friend come and reset it, because I sometimes don’t write down usernames and passwords. Plus he’s been working with and on computers since he was about 10, so I trust him fully. And he went to a tech school for it as well.

People leeching of someone else's wi-fi is not MS's problem, and wi-fi leeching would be the same with any kind of device that uses wi-fi, including smartphones and tablets and laptops and desktops. Your problem is not material to the 'problem' at hand.

BTW, securing a wi-fi connection is something that anyone can do, with just a little bit of internet 'search' or research. No need for a tech school graduate.

Please tell me you did not merely hook up a wireless router and not bother to set up encryption?

I blocked SSID and set up encryption.
