With respect for the USMC uniform, if a warrior and strategist sworn to defend the American people puports this faux science, quasi-religion, socialist scam and knife at our throats is our greatest enemy, then whether mentally or morally, sir, your position's been overrun.
Cheney is the chief executive officer of the American Security Project (ASP) and a member of the Department of States Foreign Affairs Policy Board.

The religious doctrine called climate change theory is indeed a great threat to our national security.

I guess we should believe the Brig Gen because he says so.
Because he sure didn't rely on facts to back up his premise.

The general did not write this speech. He was given the text by some publicity aide, and he read what was written. The language does not sound like it comes from a Marine general. Cheney probably either owes someone a favor or was given some bonus to read this claptrap. He most likely has no idea what so-called “climate change” is about nor cares.

"The threats of climate change include extreme weather, rising sea levels, reduced military capacity, and conditions that can enable worldwide violence and perpetuate terrorism." Translation: Climate change weakens the military and strengthens terrorism.

To address this challenge....More money & more government control. Funny how that's the answer for all our whoas.

He recites a great many horrible consequences here without really naming their cause, other than we're 'dumping carbon' into the atmosphere.
Its not unreasonable to ask for few facts to back up this key assertion.
How much more carbon today than, say, thirty years ago?

How much more carbon today than, say, thirty years ago? We actually used to do that (black soot) but we stopped...unlike China and India, whose clouds of pollution can be seen from space.
The black residue lands on ice packs and actually causes melting.

Obviously no relation to former VP Cheney. Didn’t someone recently go to Annapolis to warn the middies about glow-bull warming/change/discombobulation and what they need to do to protect America’s ports from sea level rise? Dudes and dudettes. Most of you will be in/on ships. Your new home port will be west of the Allegheny and Blue Ridge mountains. Cast off all lines. Yes, I AM a DENIER!

The information seems to be that there is more now than thirty years ago. I haven't seen anything to show that it is man made. Here's one interesting statement.
"Most of the earth's land mass is located in the northern hemisphere, as is most of the earth's vegetation. During autumn and winter, millions of tons of leaves fall fall from deciduous trees and as they decompose, they give off carbon dioxide. The trees themselves no longer process as much carbon dioxide as they are in somewhat of a dormant state. As a consequence, the earth's carbon dioxide levels rise.
Throughout the spring and summer days, leaves grow rapidly and a great deal of carbon dioxide is consumed in the growing of the leaves and subsequent normal respiration processes - so the CO2 level drops."

I remember back when the foothills in the SC valley were not visible from May through September because of the smog.
Today its rare when the air is not crystal clear. We may not be measuring it anymore, but I would be willing to bet the bank our air is ten times cleaner now than thirty or forty years ago.

I've heard there are more trees in north America now than a hundred years ago.
BTW when did they decide carbon dioxide is pollution?
