WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Billionaire Donald Trump has taken a commanding lead in the race for the 2016 U.S. Republican presidential nomination with the support of 25 percent in a Reuters/Ipsos poll, giving him a double-digit advantage over nearest rival Jeb Bush.
The poll shows Bush, the former Florida governor, trailing at 12 percent.
It is a huge jump for Trump, who announced his candidacy for the November 2016 election six weeks ago - and this despite the criticism political rivals leveled at him for remarks this month belittling the military service of Senator John McCain, the party's candidate in 2008.
The five-day rolling online poll had Trump at 15 percent among Republicans on Friday before he rocketed to 24.9 percent on Tuesday.

Trump is starting a movement and the establishment press and politicians cannot stop it.
But I tend the believe the result.
Oh my.
Maybe this explains why Yed is in hiding.
A recent poll shows Trump ahead in FLA. Me thinks Yeb does not want
to be asked questions about this FLA poll.
The FLA poll is stunning.
Yes it is. Ha!
I also want to win the lottery!
Trump knows what voters want and it is not Bush and the others.
At the rate this is going NONE of our enemies will even have a chance to determine our candidate. All the plans of the Dems, to have cross-overs in New Hampshire go to Jeb, won’t matter if the race isn’t even contested by then...and we are getting close to that point now.
yep
The five-day rolling online poll...
Anybody know how this poll works? Is it strictly for online participants
and how does one get contacted?

Cruz will be his VP.
“Cruz will be his VP.”
Cruz might rather be the majority leader of the Senate.
If Trump is the nominee it might be interesting to see him take a RINO Senator as VP as the VP has very little power but clog up the conservative process in more powerful offices. Therefore a better choice for a VP would be Mitch McConnell or John Bohner because it would get them out of the congress and somewhat mollify the GOP-E
Just my thoughts
Ha...no way...we want a VP for s second set of 2 terms.
I hope Trump goes all the way, if Cruz is his Yoda.
One thing is for sure: despite all these who say Trump has “gone too far” or has peaked, there is not one poll or any other indication that his popularity has anything but grown.
If Ted Cruz can’t be president, he best serves this country as a Justice of the Supreme Court.
If so, Mr. Trump, I volunteer to head your Embassy to Thailand or Philippines.
