How on earth could we still have an IRS with such damning proof of illegality during an election cycle is just beyond me.

Put them under oath and demand to know who did it and under what order was it carried out. If they don’t answer with a name Haul the SOB downstairs and lock them up until they sing.
One thing EVERYONE understands is erasing of tapes. Stupidity nor ignorance is not a defense. No one can claim they had no idea Congress was looking into missing emails at the point these drives were destroyed. NO ONE.
He may be untouchable from the perspective of not getting enough votes in the Senate to remove, but an Impeachment and Senate trial would serve to shed an ENORMOUS spotlight onto what the IRS did, and do so in a very public way.
And i’d bet that Republican Senators would fall all over themselves to use a trial to go after the IRS. It’s a no brainer: very easy target (most Americans HATE the IRS) and it’ll serve to distract the Conservative base from a lot of the ongoing GOPe nonsense.
Impeach the bastard who gave him the orders.
You are exactly right, republicans talk tough and that is all, in everyone of these hearings, you read about bombshells of new information, the committee’s call gov’t witnesses praise them for their service ask questions they refuse to answer and can’t get JACK from them, they make fools of the committee’s, and if anyone does get prosecuted it is some low level sacrificial lamb, Koskinen is not low level but he stands instead of Lerner, but nothing will happen to him other than empty threat of impeachment.
They run hearings until they just fade away, a primary example being Fast&Furious.

Yes,the man has no personal integrity like all of Obama’s appointees. There is not a one who will not lie, and; it appears lying comes natural to all of them.
Have they asked McCain to retire yet? I didn’t think so. They’re not serious. This is just a little kabuki theater to placate the masses.
