New York Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY), the third-highest ranking member of the Senate Democratic caucus, is emerging as the key figure in the congressional battle over the Iran deal. Schumer, who has maintained a tight silence since the nuclear deal was announced two weeks ago, was the most frequent target of last week’s rally against the deal in Times Square. Activists say a “no” vote from Schumer will not be enough; they want him to rally others to override President Barack Obama’s anticipated veto. Supporters of the deal are also lobbying him, hard. Yet the deal, by Schumer’s own standards,

Silver lining of this fiasco is that this phony will be ruined whatever decision he makes. The Democrats will never trust him or elect him leader if he votes against it, he’ll never have another good night’s sleep if he votes for it.

If the future of this sellout of Israel and the US relies on Schumer, we are in a lot of trouble.

Thanks go Corker, Schumer can vote to override 0bama’s veto knowing that there are not enough votes in the Senate to override 0bama’s veto. Then Schumer can say “I stood up to 0bama and voted for Israel.” Way to go, Corker!

I think you hit the nail on the head there. Schumer can vote "yes" on the override to grandstand in front of his NY constituency. But he knows he can't get enough 'Rats to go along with him. I'm a bit surprised that so many anti-Iran deal pundits like Joel Pollack are so overemphasizing Schumer's capabilities of bring along enough Democrats if he decides to go "yes" on an override. The knowledgeable folks in Israel are not counting on Schumer.
