President Trump—Get Used to It (fun)
pjmedia.com ^ | Roger L Simon

Posted on 07/25/2015 6:30:12 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

It’s only been a few short weeks but we’ve gone from … Trump is running… really?… to…. Did he say what I thought he said?… He’s ahead?… THAT far? … to… He said WHAT?… He’s even further ahead???….. No one else is on television?…. Who’s going to beat him?

Well, the answer to the last question is probably only The Donald himself – and time will tell on that. But I think, if he wins the Republican nomination, far from an impossibility at the moment, he will have an easier time with the Democrats.

Can you imagine Trump against Hillary (if she’s not indicted by then) or Trump against Sanders? The former would be a demolition derby and the latter would be a hoot. Wait until Donald tries to get Sanders to defend Greece. Socialism has never worked in history, not once, but damned if Bernie knows. We can rely on Donald to tell him.

And here’s another thing. Who do you think will really do better with blacks and Latinos in the end – Hillary, Bernie or Home Boy who can get you a job? They’re not idiots.

Look, I’m sorry for the other Republican candidates. There’re a lot of good ones actually. But let’s skip to the bottom line. What would a Trump presidency look like?

To start with the obvious – flashy. Designer gowns are back at the White House – with extra gold lame and very big steaks at state dinners, hold the kale. Everything Obama is out (thankfully) except golf. Golf is way in as never before.

In one month Trump has gone from a TOTAL JOKE as a candidate to the man with the clear lead.

It will certainly be interesting to watch him - so far he hasn’t done anything to really hurt himself with the base, but there are lots of opportunities to do so - such as supporting gun control (just an example) and abortion (to a lesser extent).

I expect the other candidates will try to pin him down on some of those issues, now that they FINALLY understand that they don’t have veto rights over who gets to run as a Republican. But Trump so far has been smart, VERY SMART, I seriously doubt he’ll screw up on Republican core issues.

Saying what needs to be said, and people support it.

Wow, wonder of wonders.

He can be a wingman for Cruz, or vice versa. Either way works for me. There is a momentum there that, IMHO, has not even come close to peaking.

Cruz is steady, step-by-step, while Trump is flashy and carrying a megaphone and a chainsaw.

What a team!

Well put. Cruz is doing what Juan Perot did in the movie Evita...just laying (relatively) low and biding his time, as Trump clears the way for the MAJORITY of people in this country to finally have someone to vote for.

And I’m with you, Cruz/Trump or Trump/Cruz...at least now people are thinking about it.

In the beginning I thought “Trump!? isn’t he a buffoon real estate guy?”

I did my homework quickly, He’s no buffoon, he’s absolutely brilliant! He reminds me of Churchill, another flawed genius who could do the impossible.

The impossible is taking back our society from the leftist, Marxist idiots running it now.

This is not a time for middle-of-the-road Republicans like Jeb? or Rubio, it is a time for giants like Trump!

Mark my words, if we do not jump on the Trump train, if we do not do all we possibly can to rescue America, we will fall into a dark abyss, our progeny will revile us for our lack of insight and will, we will abandon all that is noble about the human species. We must not fail. This is our final chance.

Cruz/Trump or Trump/Cruz

I don't think it will be Cruz/Trump because if Trump doesn't flame out he'll win. And if does flame out, he'll fall to single digits and be out of the race.

Trump/Cruz would however be unbeatable. Cruz would inspire the Hispanic vote and the conservative core and Trump would attract everyone p!ssed off with Obama and Congress.

Seeing a supermodel first lady that no longer induces dry heaves would be a great benefit!

True, the future first lady will look like a supermodel than a set of Cankles or Chewbacca. It will be a breath of fresh air.

It is possible that Trump is now thinking along the lines of Kennedy and Bush in terms of establishing a political dynasty.

If Bush can have two in the White House - why can’t Trump have three.

His three oldest have not turned out like so many wealthy brats. AHEM.. HILTON

Ivanka is smart, well educated, pretty and has some pizazz. Better her than Chelsea

Trump and Cruz are the only two that have a chance of winning the general election. If Cruz does not start polling higher think he would be smart to try to get on the bottom of a Trump ticket. After four years Trump will get bored with it and Cruz and can run for President from a better position.

I wholeheartedly agree, but not for the same reasons. Since Trump is already getting old, this is likely his last opportunity. However, Cruz, being much younger will still be a strong candidate for the POTUS. It is also a great division of labor. Pres. Trump could do what he does best, as in business deals, applied to foreign policy, and as a vociferous spokesman for the USA. As VP, Cruz could do what he does best and head the effort to root out the kleptocrats and ideologues from the fed, and go after, and hopefully unmake several abusive fed agencies that are not constitutional and grossly overstep their authority (EPA, Dept of Education, Dept of energy, and a whole host of lesser agencies created a long time ago, served their purpose, but were never abolished).

That would provide 16 years of conservative rule. I like it.

And .. when Trump submits his ideas to Cruz, Cruz can write legislation which will put it into action - LEGALLY.

Sounds good to me.
