Dozens of Dems push 'Equality Act' for LGBT community [Open Season on Christians Act of 2015]
Washington Examiner ^ | 7/25/15 | Elizabeth Potter

Posted on 07/25/2015 6:04:29 AM PDT by markomalley

Rep. David Cicilline, D-R.I., and almost every Democrat in the House proposed a bill this week that would extend federal anti-discrimination protections to the LGBT community.

The Equality Act would ban discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identify in areas like housing, employment, federal funding, education, credit and jury service, according to Cicilline's website.

Cicilline's bill in the House has the support of 165 other House Democrats, and a Senate bill from Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., has 39 other Democrats on it.

"In most states, you can get married on Saturday, post your wedding photos to Facebook on Sunday, and then get fired on Monday just because of who you are," Cicilline said. "This is completely wrong. Fairness and equality are core American values."

In a separate statement, Merkley said there are still 31 states that do not have "fully-inclusive non-discrimination laws."

"It's now time to take bold legislative action and pass on to the next generation an America that is more equal, not less," Merkley said. "Every American deserves the freedom and opportunity to dream the same dreams, chase the same ambitions, and have the same shot at success."

Sen. Democratic Leader Harry Reid said the bill is "long overdue."

"The Equality Act of 2015 gives LGBT Americans the equality they deserve and protects them against discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations and other areas of law where discrimination is now openly embraced," Reid said.

Ultimately, the bill would work to ensure equal rights to all Americans regardless of sexual orientation. "No American citizen should ever have to live their lives in fear of discrimination," Cicilline said.

I personally don't see why they bother. After all, next year Anthony Kennedy and SCOTUS will do their work for them and pronounce that "LGBT Rights" are contained in the Constitution and that, what we thought were religious freedom rights, were never there in the first place.

Sadly, I cannot attach a </sarc> tag to the above paragraph.

"No American citizen should ever have to live their lives in fear of discrimination," Cicilline said.

Unless you're a Christian, of course.

Remember that at their convention they booed God three times yet in their speeches they often say, “God bless America”.

The Homos will soon regret all these special rights that are being given to them. They are going to be shoved back into the closet and violently so.

Frankly, I don't care who marries who, I have no problem with that. I have friends on both sides of the issue, some of my best friends are gay, some others who disagree are friends as well. Here in our Republic, we realize that some people will do things that others may not like and there are times we must live with that but on the other hand to force others to go against their beliefs is wrong too and again, that is another founding principle of our Republic. Unfortunately, there are people behind an agenda who keeps pushing and pushing to keep beating those that disagree. As my father said, if you keep beating on a given group of people, eventually they will fight back and when that happens, people on both sides will get hurt or worse. I don't want to see that. Yeah, now we have same sex marriage now but it isa multi-way street, there had to be respect for those who oppose it too.

I think where a lot of this started was the Civil Rights movement and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Barry Goldwater was right to oppose it, I would have as well, because of the unintended consequences. Because of that, every person or group who does not get their way will cry "civil rights" until they get their way.

This bill is designed to push another narrative for the 2016 election. Dems will say Republicans support discrimination, then some stupid RINOs will cave and say “No, no...we believe in tolerance and equality, please be nice to us MSM!” and then they’ll lose the election as always.

“Homosexuals! The commie lib DemocRATS’ number one issue.”

And if I were running for office, I would hang this around their neck. Every business in the US will lose any rights they have to cater to whomever they want to. People of faith will lose their first amendment rights.

All this for less than 8% of the population.

Democrats are a one two issue party, abortion and gay rights. The first has been exposed for what it really is; a racist baby parts trade industry. And the second, we already saw what AIDS did to this country.

That "community" (doesn't that sound nice?) won't be happy until the one thing that makes them feel badly about their BEHAVIOR is out of the way:
God.

It's really sad. I like my father's position, he said, "OK, you may marry, but don't expect everyone to accept it. They have every right to be left alone and the worst you'll get from me is a funny look on my face. Even so, don't force people who disagree to go against their beliefs such as forcing a baker to make a cake. You're force people to go against their conscience, not only that, that is slavery as well."

My take in addition is the pendulum should be in the middle somewhere, it should not qo violently to either side but those with an agenda are pushing it so far to one side, people who are fed up will push back so hard it could swing way to the other side and that is just as bad. Even so, I cannot blame them, being pushed into a corner, you are giving them no choice but to fight since negotiation goes out the window. Again, like the Civil Rights Act I eluded to before, you'll see the law of unintended consequences come into play.

"Frankly, I don't care who marries who"

which means you have no principles, zero real experience with the horrors of the "gay culture", and you're perfectly fine with the descent into depravity that will follow. You're worse than useless.

As soon as this doctrine is accepted and openly supported in the Islamic mosques, among Buddhists and the many philosophies that are collectively known as Hinduism, why, then, I have no problem with “equality” as being pushed by the LGBT crowd (minority that it is). The Jewish religion, however, has some strong prohibitions concerning such overt activity in relation to sexual matters, in fact, they devote an entire book of the Torah in how this matter should be dealt with.

Wrath of God seems to be the major enforcement policy.

Want to chance it?

You could rob a bank on Saturday, post it on face book on Sunday, and be fired on Monday, just because of who you are.

The pendulum always swings. The farther you go in one direction, the farther it swings back. This isn’t the first time a civilization went mad, they always do before the fall. The swing back will be, I fear, rather ugly.
