GOP Elites: A Confederacy of Dunces

The GOP powerbrokers are beyond upset, they are apoplectic. Last month, their favored candidate, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, announced he’s running for president, but he was immediately overshadowed by Donald Trump, who officially entered the race the next day.

Ever since then, it has been all Trump, all the time. From his bold statements to his refusal to apologize, he has dominated media coverage, pushing Bush and the others to the back pages. One day Trump is being blasted by Hispanic groups and business leaders for his illegal immigration comments and the next day he is being pilloried by the RNC for his remarks about U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ).

Before the McCain firestorm dies down, Trump is creating a new controversy by releasing the cell phone number of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC). This was retaliation for Graham calling Trump a “jackass,” even though several years ago the senator begged Trump to help him get on Fox News.

It is up to “geniuses” who control the Republican Party, do they just want to keep control of the party or do they actually want to win the general election?

********************************************************

I think we know the answer to that one from past experience .... keeping control is everything to the moderate GOP country club elites.

As much as it hurts in the short-term, a third "Conservative" party is what America needs. The Republicans will be perceived as the middle-of-the-road "moderate" party robbing voters away from Democrats who prefer their leftist Socialist/Marxist brand, or else RINOs will go the way of the Whigs. They need to...

Welcome to another day of that hit reality show “The GOP Race”. What will the reality show villain, known as ‘The Donald’ do today? Well, we all know everyone will tune in and find out. They will talk about it and comment on it. And he will continue to surge in popularity because what can anyone say to the bad boy of the contest to make him behave? Behaving is what is keeping the dozen others behind him.

Everyone knows that the villain will eventually lose (but not always!) but that he is kept on until the very end. It’s what brings in ratings!

The media, which has purposefully turn politics into reality television based on sound bites and images, is beside itself as The Donald has already said “You’re Fired!’ to the Des Moines Register, one of the most influential early race publications. Most candidates lick the boots of that newspaper because it is can make or break you. Now, no one will get to read anything about The Donald in that paper that won’t be a re-report from somewhere else. All of the other news outlets are now afraid that The Donald could freeze them out as well and they would lose their edge against their competition.

The GOP leadership is puckered because of The Donald. They can’t use money or offers of positions to try and control him. In fact, the more they try to control him, the more popular he becomes by smacking them away.

The Democrats are absolutely terrified of The Donald because he isn’t afraid of outrage. Not from Republicans, not from the media, and definitely not from them. The Democrats have conditioned all GOPers into believing that if someone is outraged, then Democrats will win everything. The Donald says outrageous things just to laugh at all the outrage around him.

So a man who can’t be controlled by the media, won’t be harnessed by the GOP, and who can’t be muzzled by the Democrats can only be stopped by himself. Will he grow bored in the next 16 months? Maybe. But I guarantee that his ego is big enough that he thinks he deserves running the whole country. And if he is truly his own man, not owned by anyone else, then in many ways he is to be admired.

I will not be voting for him in the Primary, but if it is a choice in the general between a egotistical jerk who loves his country and can’t be controlled by special interest or a candidate that is beholden to the status quo of a corrupt system, it’s not that hard of a choice to make.

Ann Coulter labelled Trump’s fellow candidates “midgets” and with the exception of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), all of them have joined in the Trump bashing and lost conservative support as a result.

WOW! Anorexic Annie finally said something I agree with. I wonder what happened between her and the guy that she "loved" in 2012, Chris Christie? Has Ann not been getting her "propers" from the Establishment so she is, MAYBE, coming back to Conservatives after 4 years?

I love what DT is saying!

How can we trust a friend of Cankles though?

He's another dead in the water flop horse! Just like Mutt, Juan, and Awful Dull.

He can snag the GOPDNCII nom, but will he fight for it, or roll over for scooby snacks like the other DNCII candy dates?

You are being too kind to these “REPUBLICAN ELITES”. They are not just a “CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES”. These people are really a “CONFEDERACY OF THIEVES, LIARS and WHORES”. Every promise they made to the voters, during their elections have been thrown out the window. The only thing they are interested in is how much money will they get from those people on “K” street. They have sold out every one that voted for them. The stink of their corruption is oozing out of their very pores.

The GOP has a death wish.
We should oblige them.
For the Republic to survive, the GOP must die.
