By coincidence, perhaps, it seems true that there were relatively fewer mass murderers than today before Hugh Heffner started Playboy. Pornography had been on the fringes of society, by the 1960s young children had trouble avoiding it. (Dr. Jerome LeJeune, discoverer of the chromosomal basis for Down Syndrome, postulated that a virginal man and woman undergo exclusive quasi-epigenetic bonding, one to the other to the exclusion of all others--in opposition to the rampant sharing of genetic material by the promiscuous.)

Our natural wiring allows those who live in a sane society to experience seuxal awakening in a socially affirmative context, but the up to 1/3 of those who, prior to our end-stage society, remained virginal, had no interest in marital relations at any time, yet were completely normal. The NJ teacher "couldn't help it" any more than pedophiles whose brains were altered by childhood and sometimes infancy abuse can help it. Poor wretches, how can they be helped?
It might take a lifetime of research to confirm or refute these ideas, if anyone could be found to overcome the pervasive environment of academic bias toward preconceived stereotypes against ordinary common sense.
