The bill, which is formally called the "Enforce the Law for Sanctuary Cities Act," would block states and cities from receiving federal law enforcement funding if they have so-called “sanctuary city” practices in place, blocking the enforcement of certain federal immigration laws.

Finally Congress attempts to pass a law that I actually agree with. IIRC, this will be the first in ............. my entire adult life.

Dem Guitierrez called the defunding of Sanctuary Cities the Donald Trump Act. Trump didn’t name it. I believe the Kate’s law part has to do with the mandatory jail time for felonious illegals.

Isn’t it amazing how cavalier democrats are with thousands of American lives and are willing to get thousands of people killed for there pet projects?

Do you actually believe the Republicans are any better?

Both parties are doing things that drive down the quality of American life and are inflicting extreme damage on the middle class and our economy.

The ONLY thing the Republican's are doing at this point is playing politics with the issue. They know Obama won't sign any bill specific to enforcing border security and that's exactly what they want. They can then turn around and tell the folks in fly-over country that "we tried" and the solution as always is to elect more RINO's.

Don't buy it.

First thing...why the grandstanding by the GOP threatening to cut funding. Just do it in the DHS funding bills. If Dems want to shut DHS down, let them. Just have the guts to stand up for you constitutional duties.

Good grief - wasn’t there a case a few years ago where a state (Arizona?) tried to guard their border or send illegals back, and the feds sued them since immigration enforcement was a federal responsibility - and won?

And now - cities can ignore federal law, and that is OK? And an attempt to force them to follow it can actually be vetoed?
