Why the Iran deal is in danger
NYPost.com ^ | July 22, 2015 | John Podhoretz

The Obama administration has to be worried about the polling data on the Iran deal. It’s not good, not good at all.

According to Pew, which released a survey this week, 38 percent support it and 48 percent oppose....

The Pew results appear to contradict an earlier Washington Post/ABC poll that found 56 percent support for the deal with 37 percent against.

But that 56-37 number is hinky. It doesn’t jibe with other findings in the same survey.

For example, 35 percent said they approved of the president’s handling of Iran, while 52 percent disapproved.

Since the president’s “handling of Iran” now boils down exclusively to the pact he made with the mullahs, that painfully low 35 percent approval rating for Obama on Iran is impossible to square with 56 percent support for the deal....

“Meanwhile, 64 percent said they were not confident the deal would halt Iran’s nuclear ambitions, with 42 percent saying they had absolutely no confidence.”...

So it all comes down to what you believe, and a week of intense lobbying has not changed the public’s lack of trust in the Iranians or its sense that the president isn’t handling the Iranians effectively....

I didn’t think this would be possible to achieve when all was said and done, but these poll numbers offer a glimmer of real hope the deal will be rejected by Congress in September — especially since wavering representatives and senators will be going home in August and will be barraged by arguments on the part of those opposed to the deal....

Was the early WashPost-ABC poll an attempt to sway public opinion?

They really thought the average American would trust the Islamic Republic of Iran? After all the threats, the terrorism, the military aggressiveness?

Not over yet.

Are they kidding? Obama could care less about the polls . He’s intent on the destruction of America and damn anyone who gets in his way.

Congress already voted on this issue. They voted to give up their role in the treaty process, because Obama didn't use the word "treaty". So a 2/3 vote to pass is now a 1/3 vote to pass.

But by all means, let's enjoy the GOP Kabuki theater.

This isn’t on the Iran deal, but on the article’s use of the liberal fantasy term “international community.” It suddenly struck me that I’ve heard that term a lot and it finally jelled in this context what it is supposed to mean and that it doesn’t exist. A community is defined as:

“A group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common, “Rhode Island’s Japanese community.” The people of a district or country considered collectively, especially in the context of social values and responsibilities. A group living together especially one practicing common ownership.”

So, does community apply to Frenchmen and Chinese? How about Frenchmen and Germans?

This international community doesn’t exist unless the “community” they’re talking about is viewed from Mars. No wonder anything we want the “international community” to do requires huge bribes. It’s more fairy dust and unicorn poop.

Now you are getting to the heart of the matter locally

There is also no black community. The concept might be delusion but methinks it is propaganda. There is no black homogeneity

The same concept is at work with the revelation of the Planned Parenthood homicides. There is a conceptual community that does good to mask the real evil

The attacks on Trump are taken from the specific, McCain to all POW’s, to the general. That is a terrible jump that amounts to old fashioned lying.

So it is with the international community. It doesn’t exist either. What is reality is a group of 5 or 6 nations pursuing their own national interests to redevelop an old customer

ValJar and the puppet know best what’s best for WTP. ‘It’s only fair’ As the parader in chief comes out on stage to declare that this WILL be approved, no matter how WTP feel about it. “”FAIRNESS” is, as always, is what the little kingo-o wishes to punch American citizens in the gut. This little twerp is truly beginning to get my goat. He, his bride, and the adoptive Lizard face muslim mommy are absolutely American hating slime people of the ninth degree. If anger were lethal, they would be bruised, battered and broken.

WHY THE IRAN DEAL US NOT IN DANGER!
Because it will take a 2/3 majority to override the Presidential veto which will not happen. If it was a treaty, that same 2/3 would have been needed to ratify. Very difficult. And with the lockstep Democrats, a 2/3 majority will NEVER be achieved. Boehner and McConnell knew this when S625 was proposed. Every Republican voted for this except Tom Cotton. They abdicated the treaty power passing that legislation....now Boehner says he will stop it? He cannot and he knows it. They vote down the agreement, the president vetoes it and the 2/3 votes needed to override cannot be obtained, Boehner and McConnel blame the Democrats because they "tried" and IRAN GETS THE BOMB and billions of dollars to finance a huge terrorism campaign against us continuing to scream Death to America from their Moslim minerettes. Boehner and McConnel are going to repeal Obamacare if they win the majority...uh...did that happen? Liars and in step with Obama on the path to real socialism. How much proof do you need?

Even if congress rejects the deal it will be too late to restrain the Iranians. Does anyone think the Russians, Chinese, or Europeans are going to walk away from lucrative business deals just because the US congress has rejected a deal signed by the US president?
The Iranians have already won this particular battle. We have negotiated ourselves into a no win position.

It will still pass, due to the absurd ground rules of the Cornyn Bill, and the fact that even Democrats who are against it aren’t going to risk Obama’s “legacy”.

As long as they is a Republican Party, Obama’s sellout of and betrayal of the United States and Israel is in no danger of being thwarted.
