AND.... it seems to me he is one person who could beat Hillary in the D primary.... whereas he’ll be up against several pretty good campaigners in the R primary. He IS a smart person who should be able to see this ...

Exactly, if Trump wanted a nomination he would have run against Clinton appealing to:
1. Rank and file union members who are being harmed by immigration.
2. African Americans who are being harmed by immigration.
3. Low information Dims who like to vote for rockstars.
I think he might have swept to the nomination with just that coalition.
