I like what Trump says but I don’t like that he quit last time. My question is will he quit again?

That is unclear. I was referring to an article someone had linked to by Victor Davis Hanson. Not enough coffee. Thanks for noticing.

I am a Cruz supporter.

However, I suggest you check your facts and find out what really Trump said regarding McCain.

My father was a Vietnam Veteran , stationed in Saigon 1967 to 1968 and he called McCain and Kerry ‘two peas in a pod’.

I like Cruz. He's probably my guy in the primary. However, what do we have that Cruz has done other than the failed shutdown---WHICH I SUPPORTED?

He took a stand. He has taken many stands which have not been successful, but he takes those stands because his principles requires it. He has shown that he does not have his finger in the wind to see which way public opinion is blowing. He does what he thinks is right at all times. So if we know one thing about Ted Cruz it's that he will do what he says. Can we say that about Trump, or most of the other candidates?

What Trump has DONE, more than anyone, including Cruz, is stand up in front of the public for several BIG issues, paint a bullseye on himself, and said, "COME ON." That's what a leader does.

No, that's what a clown does. A leader takes a stand and comes up with solutions. Trump spouts out meaningless crap that sounds good, i.e. charge Mexico $100,00 per illegal immigrant, but he has no serious ideas, no real solutions, no other reason to be in the race except his rampaging ego.

” ... Of course John McCain is a war hero. That is not up for debate. ...”

***********

Sorry, but it is up for debate. We are passing out hero status like we pass out worthless A’s in our educational system. Soldiers who wee captured in prior wars deserved thanks for their ordeal, but they would have laughed at the notion that they were heroes.

Here are the facts as we know them:

According to Colonel Ted Guy, John McCain’s commander as a POW, McCain collaborated with the enemy.
McCain is accused of giving information that led to the downing of 60 US aircraft
McCain is accused of training North Vietnamese air defense personnel
McCain is accused of making over 30 propaganda broadcasts against the US, broadcasts he moved to have classified when he was elected to the senate

We disagree. And unfortunately, while he is my #1 choice, Cruz will not be the nominee. He has the money to stay in the race, but it will likely come down to Walker, Trump, and Bush, and I do not trust Walker. And your complaint about "crap that sounds good" is exactly why Trump is surging and most of the others are not. A campaign is about inspiration, not bullet point fixes. And I want someone with that ego, because they can't be intimidated, bribed, or shut down.

Check back in a couple of months.

The only thing someone could call McCain that would offend me is “loyal American”.

McCain is no hero and he was shot down and injured by his own mistakes.

He would have been washed out of flight training if his father wasn’t an admiral, he was a crappy pilot.

Meaningless crap that sounds good like "tear down that wall"?

How about "we will put a man on the moon"?

In my opinion, leaders set the tone, identify the target and provide the support and resources to THEN get it done...

“Hanson is dead wrong. Trump is the diametrical opposite of Obummer. Obummer’s entire effort is expended at destroying America, the America he hates to his core. He is skilled at doing so. Trump may be many things, but he loves America and will do his utmost to make it great again. Will he succeed? All we have is Trump’s record of determined achiever and doer to guide us.”

Riiiight....All we have is Trump’s record.

Trump in ‘04: ‘I probably identify more as Democrat’

(CNN)Before Donald Trump was a front-running Republican presidential candidate, the real estate mogul believed that the nation’s economy ran better when Democrats were in control and that Hillary Clinton would be a strong negotiator with foreign nations.

BTW That record mainly involves shooting off his big mouth, making self serving statements, and spending (and losing) other peoples money.

" All he has to do is be a conservative on the 3-4 issues that he IS a conservative on, border security, Common Core, vets, business and trade."

You mean like all the other candidates? My point is the reason he is running and the only reason he is running is to get and keep his name in the media.

I don’t want a “leader” that “comes up with solutions”. Solutions spouted by one man (My plan, blah, blah, blah) are usually worse than the problem.

I want representatives that will abide by the rules of our society called the Constitution. PERIOD!

I don’t need more mastermind solutions on problems created by masterminds trying to fix a problem created by a previous mastermind that was trying to find a solution to something created by other masterminds that...

The way I structured that is dumb. Someone linked an article by Victor Davis Hanson, who normally writes brilliant articles. In this one he claimed that Obama and Trump were the same. That is the one I said was stupid, not the article by Root.

And how is Trump going to get the Mexican government to pay $100,000 per illegal immigrant?

LOL. Getting Mexico to pay? Trump said he would charge Mexico $100,000 per illegal alien. Getting them to pay would involve any number of methods Congress could come up with.

As an aside, let me point out that Illegal Immigrant is an oxymoron. Immigrant means something specific as far as U.S. Immigration Law as does Illegal Alien. Leftists promote the terms Illegal Immigrant & Undocumented Immigrant for one reason: using the terms establishes a false premise that enforcing Immigration Law is optional and can involve negotiation and compromise.
