A man suspected of killing five people — including his mother, girlfriend and baby daughter — committed the massacre two days after police received strong evidence that he had also slain the girlfriend’s 2-year-old son, who was fatally injured while under his care in October, officials said Monday.
But Modesto police did not obtain an arrest warrant for 30-year-old Martin Martinez in the earlier case until after Saturday’s mass killing in a home on a quiet cul-de-sac in the city, raising questions about whether authorities did enough to protect the suspect’s family.

The 38-year-old woman killed was a popular Modesto physician. What a woman smart enough to be a doctor was doing with that idiot scumbag - including having a baby by him - is a mystery. And she came to his defense after the death of her 2-year-old under his supervision, for which the police bad just (10 MONTHS after the toddler’s death by blunt force trauma) issued a warrant on him.
