Japan Is At Risk Of Fading From Existence

There’s a village in Japan where the dead outnumber the living, and I don’t mean the ancestors in the cemetery. The bodies are dispersed around the small town of Nagoro.

It’s a small community of some 35 people, most in their 60s or older. The place is so sparsely populated that the locals consider their 150-plus dead a part of their community.

OK, so they aren’t literal dead bodies. Instead, the locals erected scarecrow-like figures in their likeness. Scarecrows fill the schoolhouse whose students long since graduated. They wait by an old bus stop, even though there’s no bus to pick them up.

For the residents remaining, they replace the memories of those that have either passed away or simply moved away.

This is a stark example of Japan’s most systemic issues.

These days, there are more adult diapers than infant diapers being sold in Japan.

I think our aging 'boomer' population is having an deflationary effect on our economy that will be with us for a while too.
I'm 71, in excellent health and I don't buy much of anything anymore, food mostly and I owe nothing.
I'll live another 15 years, minimum.
I drove 4,000 miles in my car/truck (combined) last year.
So.....

Japan is still a very crowded place. Don’t they have to import food and fuel?

Seems that most of the world’s most prosperous and industrious nations are dying slow suicidal deaths, while the 3rd world breeds like rabbits and begins invading the 1st world, sucking it’s life-blood.

Japan, Italy, Spain, Germany, Canada, the US, England, are all but dying....

Im surprised there are Americans of Japanese ancestry wanting to head back to japan, apparently Japan needs farmers, i wonder if some American farmers of Japanese descent would consider moving back to japan to show them how to grow a family?

Japan won’t willingly destroy their culture by importing as they see it “barbarians”, their number may go down but I doubt that the Japanese will go extinct, I think rather their population may dip down a bit and stabilize then slowly go up.

“Japan is still a very crowded place. Don’t they have to import food and fuel?”

You are woefully misinformed. As a frequent visitor to Japan, I can tell you that as a country, Japan isn’t crowded. The people there live on 16% of the land area. These statistics have been around for twenty years or more. Japan, and I think Russia as well, due to low birthrate will dwindle to nothing in a couple more generations.

Yes, Japan will be just fine. The whole point of articles like this is to convince them to take in boatloads of Third World immigrants. Unlike us, I don’t think they are that stupid.

When it comes to relocating permanently, a big problem with Japan is that it’s pretty inhospitable for anyone who isn’t Japanese. It’s a very urbanized country, especially by North American standards. The U.S. has a population of more than 300 million people, but Japan’s population density is about ten times higher than ours.

Lower birth rates and declines in marriage are falling across the west. Why it’s so hard to understand for people I do not know. Marriage is less worthwhile to men than it was in the past. Simultaneously, being single has never been better for a man. Here is my attempt to reason it out.

1) Marriage is dumb for men on a macro level. You have a contract that can be broken by either party, at any time, for any reason. BUT, typically the man is on the hook to pay his ex a lot of money and for many years. I mean she is not providing you any service (no more sex, house cleaning, cooking) but she still cost money. And as a bonus, you will probably be alienated from you children if you get divorced.

2) Singleness isn’t so bad. Modern life has it made it so men can cook their meals relatively easy. Washing clothes, dishes are all automated too. And you don’t need marriage for female affection. Just saying.

So why buy the cow.....when the cow is likely to cost you dearly, when you can get free milk?

It may not be moral, but we live in a post Christian western world.

Correct.

If each person on earth was allotted 1200 square feet of living space, the world population could easily fit into Calif. (Or something close to those figures)

The U. S. White citizen has three kids, and it’s a crime against the planet.

Hispanics have ten, and it’s a blessed family, charming.

Japan wanes, and folks belittle then for not having more.

Does the Left ever stop to analyze their beliefs?

Go to Google Maps and scroll over to Japan and hit the satellite option and look at all the green, uninhabited areas.

Or do the same for Brazil.

Ah, the 1770’s... the good ol’ days when the population of the united colonies/states was 3 million. Philly, one of the larger cities, was 20,000.

“If each person on earth was allotted 1200 square feet of living space, the world population could easily fit into Calif. (Or something close to those figures)”

The problem in Japan has to do with culture. We have Japanese friends who bring their own rice with them when the come to visit. No matter that California is a very large producer of rice and a lot of the rice growers here are in fact Japanese. Their position is that “Japanese Rice is much better.” And so it is with just about everything. They are less than a century from a feudal society, and they are completely trapped by long-standing culture and traditions.
You can even by a rice cooker there that’s hooked up to the internet. Since they make a batch of rice every day, if you don’t, the cooker notifies the cops to check to see if you’re still alive!
