Cruz is against it. He’s not against ethanol per se, just the gov’t subsidies. He said something like that in Iowa awhile ago. Paraphrased: “I know that isn’t what I’m supposed to say here in Iowa. But I figure people are tired of politician telling them what they want to hear. And I’m telling you what I’ll do.” He got a lot of applause.
He also brought in that Texas is a huge agricultural state, and if ethanol can be another crop and bring in money on the competitive market - good for Texas and Iowa.
