Just think about that.. Why would McLame a POW not be a staunch ally and proponent of MIA/POW and veterans? Glad this is a topic to revisit and he brought it all back upon himself.
Were they calling him a Hero back when he returned or only after a little revisionist history?

I think he had to be a gutless wonder in the Senate for 20 years before he somehow magically achieved post facto hero status.....
Some of the most famous POWs said McCain was a hero
after capture and severe injuries, he was offered an early release (the NVA thought that having the son of the Pacific Fleet Commander released early would break the spirit of the other POWs). McCain refused and was thrown into solitary for another 4 years.
Of course they shouldn’t stand up for McPhoney....what has he done for them???? NOTHING....
What should be publicized is that the reason Trump went after McCains “hero” status is because McCaine been using that tag for decades to get away with his RINO BS.

The cases mentioned others known to have been left behind, including some sent to Cuba.
He refused to meet with the National Alliance of Families.
It also talks about how he raised his hand and back handed one of the members of the group. A second woman told about how he also raised his left arm ready to strike another older woman in a wheelchair, but instead pushed her wheelchair away from him.
He lied about the Missing Persons Act to this group. He personally gutted the legislation.

The big issue here is easily explained as your veteran status has nothing to do with how great of a leader you are. Also, just because you are a veteran doesn’t automatically mean that I have to agree with you.
