That topic was brought up. If the president federalizes the Arkansas National Guard troops, the director of the Arkansas State police can deputize National Guard members as well as Sheriffs of their respective counties.

“Ten bucks says that the Pentagon will countermand that order.”

I think it would depend on whether they’re on active duty as National Guard or active duty under DOD orders. If they’ve been activated doing state business then I think a governor can authorize them to be armed. If activated by the Feds, then the Feds get to set the rules. That’s my thinking anyway :)

I don’t believe the Pentagon can do that. Federal Troops are in a state with that state’s consent, I think. Perhaps someone will enlighten me if I am wrong.
Anyway, I’m calling on Gov. Rick Scott do the same.

Husband has lowered our flag half mast and Obama cannot, yet, stop other Americans from doing likewise. We will raise our flag back up on Tuesday as our Gov Hutchinson currently plans. To hell with Obama one way or another.
