I have my doubts Methane Hydrates will be economical in 10 years compared to Shale sources transported as LNG.

Likely true. Except for Japan where they pay about four times more for natural gas as in the USA. Given the choice between paying someone else for their LNG or pulling up methane hydrates for the same price off their own coasts-they’d likely go for the latter.

I would guess that LNG at half or less the coat of Methane Hydrates, will keep the Hydrates waiting past the next decade.
