It is obvious that Kim didn’t budget well. She knew she had 90 grand and that... divided by 4 years should have been a clue as to what she could afford. That being said, everyone comes to the crossroads of being a “kid” and proving yourself an adult at some point. This is her crossroad. She can whine about how life is unfair and mean OR take a year off of school and work your butt off. By work, I mean more than one job and forgo the Starbucks, expensive make up/purses/clothes etc... Try to save every precious nickel... FWIW: my son just turned 19. This Summer, he is working 3 jobs. It can be done if one is motivated and not lazy.

I think you’re missing the point:

She’s the result of what happens when stupid people breed.

Her parents are complete idiots as well. They deserve no kudos for not giving her more $$ with or without conditions.

This gal will go nowhere fast and this is the first of many hard lessons she will find about life, as her parents sheltered and raised her so badly and gave her such lousy genes that she’s doomed to repeat the mistakes of others.

I’d bet my left hat on that.

A friend’s son, who was injured in a terrible accident when he was 16, took the settlement money that his parents had invested for him and blew through it in about a year and a half. I think it was between $500-750,000. Low life friends, drugs, alcohol. All gone. These kids have no clue on the value of money. I bet this girl’s grandparents worked almost all of their life for this money and we’re so proud to be able to give her money to acquire the tools to have a happy and successful life. Sad.
