Senior Democrats pushed back Thursday against an undercover government probe of President Barack Obamas health care law, saying it didnt uncover any real fraud.
Investigators for the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office signed up 11 bogus beneficiaries for 2014 coverage then got HealthCare.gov to continue benefits this year for all but one.
Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., said these were fictitious cases and the GAO investigators themselves admit the findings cant be translated to the 10 million people getting subsidized coverage through the laws health insurance markets. Wyden spoke at a Finance Committee hearing on the investigation.
But GAOs audits chief Seto Bagdoyan said the investigation exposed real concerns. He said it was relatively easy for GAOs fictitious characters to get and keep coverage, even to get reinstated after HealthCare.gov terminated them. HealthCare.gov seems to put a higher priority on getting people covered than on verifying they are legally entitled to benefits, Bagdoyan said.

They are angry..............because they got caught......................If Healthcare.gov did this for 11 fictitious people, how many real people did they do this for?...............
If there is nothing wrong why the worry
Fictitious people are a time honored political tradition esp in say Chicago.
Fictitious or dead?....................

Criminals should get at least a 24 day warning before any investigation takes place. If that’s good enough for Iran’s government it should be good enough for ours.
Who knows how many D politicians and programs may be found to be corrupt if they are not given prior warning of investigations. This investigation was unfair (and probably racist).
“GAO investigators themselves admit the findings cant be translated to the 10 million people getting subsidized coverage through the laws health insurance market”
And why not? Physicians that have been found to “fraudulently” billed for a common procedure have the penalties extrapolated to their entire practice and are demanded a check before the investigator leaves their office.
