Walker’s rise to prominence as a candidate, and his support for contentious voter ID laws, made him a soft target for DNC chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, who addressed the NAACP in Philadelphia on Monday.

Ooooohhh, that's gonna smart, Debs

Sept 2014:

“What Republican tea party extremists like Scott Walker are doing is they are grabbing us by the hair and pulling us back,” she added, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “It is not going to happen on our watch.”

Wasserman Schultz, who chairs the Democratic National Committee, cited as examples, Walker’s opposition to a minimum wage hike, and opposition to a bill that would give people a way to fight back against employment discrimination.

The Journal Sentinel said Democrats are hoping to rally their base for the November election, in which Mary Burke (D) is running against Walker. Polls that were released in August showed a virtual tie, although some showed Burke leader Walker.

“She has run a campaign from beginning to now that is exactly on track to make sure she’s elected governor, a slow rolling boil that will eventually reach a crescendo that will send her to the governor’s office,” Wasserman Schultz said.

It’s the second time this week that a Democrat has used especially harsh language to describe their Republican opponents. In Alabama, a Democratic candidate for the House said the GOP is “worse than” the Islamic State, and said Republican policies amount to economic terrorism.”
