Who knew that putting snow in the ocean could have catastrophic consequences?
Happy Bastille Day !!!
It took so long to melt because global warming is causing the earth to get colder. The warmer the earth gets, the colder it becomes. Or something like that.
I shoveled about 100 inches of global warming from my driveway last winter..more than twice the usual amount. Also, during the winter of ‘12/’13 we had 90+ inches..almost exactly twice the usual amount.
This is a dumb question, but why don’t glaciers melt? I mean, snow and ice melts in front of my house when the temperature gets to 40 degrees. So how is it that glaciers can continue to exist in even warmer temperatures for years?
A few reasons. But one is that they create their own microclimate. Just like an ice-cave in the desert southwest (and even in Idaho). It's 100 degrees outside, but 20 feet down in this cave, there's ice.

and
DENIER!.....burn him!
One reason is they form in cold areas then flow (vast weight of ice will) downhill into warmer areas, taking time to melt there.
Could have called just about anybody out in "flyover country" and got a couple of ideas.
too bad there are still a lot of steaming stinking piles there.
And the liberal crap continues to pile up.
Thanks for sharing that. I learn a lot from FR!
What? These are “smart people” who couldn’t possibly follow common sense advice from gap-toothed rednecks in flyover country.
Well this certainly cut the cost of snow cone production in Boston this summer...wonder if they are considering some type of windfall profits tax on confectioners...
