Smart folks - like most at FR - knew that taking down that state flag was going to appease no one. Does anyone in the Conservative pundit class ever understand that the Left cannot be appeased until we are all dead in a mass grave?

It was always a hate campaign against the South.

It was a pre planned attack by the left organized by the Agitator-in-chief. I wouldn’t doubt if the punk shooter wasn’t brainwashed by government leftist to go on his rampage. Ok, I am paranoid but they really are out to get us. More likely they have been patiently waited for a shooter to have some incidental connection to the Tea Party and/or Southern leaning. Well in that crazy little POS they got one out of two and they ran with it.
Everything the left does turns into a hateful smear campaign. It’s all they’ve got.
Leftists and Muslims are the same order of being. Both see reconciliation as capitulation. Both intend to grind their enemies into the dust. Both are ideological extremists with absolutely no sense of morality. Both kill babies, Muslims by the thousands, leftists by the tens of millions. The beliefs of neither are deserving of serious consideration. Both must be marginalized if humanity is to survive.

Exactly what I was thinking. The so-called "liberals" are anything but. Consider any issue they've adopted in the past 20 years and what they've done to anyone who dares oppose them. Demonization, ad-hominem attacks, lawsuits, insults. The astute observer notices that reason and facts are conspicuously missing from the usual liberal fascist toolbox.

Nikki Haley and her fellow apologists should have known that the lunatic left would not stop at her statehouse steps. When she laid down for their silver, she opened a pandora’s box that can not be shut for years to come. Let me say this too, that “honor guard” brought shame and disgrace on their uniforms by participating in that sham spectacle. They are nothing more than dupes.
When I was little all the family men were fighting in Europe and the South Pacific. I lived the war years with a generation of aunts and cousins at Gran's home in Decatur Georgia.
Gran ran a tight ship, the place was busy. A black lady, Annie McDaniel worked for Gran, it was more like with than for.
No one ever loved a bunch of kids more than Annie loved us, and it was mutual.
To me the Stars and Bars is about carpetbaggers, the ones Jefferson was talking about, "The mobs of great cities add just so much to the support of pure government, as sores do to the strength of the human body."
While the South is taking the brunt of all of this for now. This is really directed at whites and our heritage. It is but a small jump from the Confederacy to the founders to the American flag to our history and culture.
And folks like this dips*it still don’t really see it or think they have any part in it.
