Well that you ask the question. Our LCS designs (LCS-1 mono-hull; LCS-2 tri-hull) have been in service for seven years and both have problems. I've gone on record calling the LCS design as a “swoose” — part swan and part goose — that cannot perform either task. Alternately, others have said LCS stands for Little Crappy Ship.
The bottom line is the LCS is over weight, under manned, under gunned, over rated, and over priced. The LCS in its current form needs to die and be replaced by several dedicated ship types doing mine warfare, antisubmarine warfare, and anti-air warfare.
