Iran Talks Continue as Fourth Deadline Is Blown (no end in sight 2 weeks after June 30 deadline)

VIENNA— The fourth deadline in negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program has passed, with no announcement of a deal from any of the countries involved in the talks. The P5+1 group of countries brokering the agreement with Tehran began a new meeting shortly after midnight at the Palais Coburg.

The American diplomatic delegation in the Austrian capital divulged little information throughout the day, but back in Washington Monday, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said “genuine progress” had been made, although several issues remained under review. He added that negotiators would remain at the table as long as the discussions between Iran and the six other countries were productive.

“If the talks are not completed today, then the interim agreement will be extended again,” Earnest added.

Republican Senator James Lankford told VOA, "I have always been concerned there would be endless extensions just because we are dealing with Iran. That's the big challenge here a partner that has been unreliable since 1979.

"To make a deal with Iran is a very difficult thing to do, because they do not keep their end of the bargain. So now we have to make sure that everything [in a deal] is verifiable. If it's not verifiable, we shouldn't do it, and I think that is where Iran is balking," he said.

Mebbe the idea is to “fail” so Iran gets the bomb.

And then Kerry claims “we tried” but no deal.

Either way, I’m 99.99999% convinced Iran is gonna get the bomb and Russia is gonna get a hook in the jaw.

The iranians are probably throwing up roadblocks so they don’t have to go back to the stinking hellhole so quick. I’m sure Vienna is like a dream vacation comparatively.

If the ayatollah gets nukes, I hope the first target is Washington DC. Sorry, but that is how I feel about this regime.

Did they put out an under 10yo section for them and the nice alpine goats? No wonder they’re staying.

If John Kerry comes home empty-handed he’ll be considered a complete failure. But if he comes home after signing a terrible treaty where we give away the store and get nothing in return, he’ll be attacked like a piñata by the Republicans and most of the media as everyone watches scenes of the Iranians dancing in the street carrying ‘’Death to America!’’ signs.

Why should they be in any hurry to sign anything? By all accounts the longer it drags out, the better the deal they're offered gets.

If they can hold off long enough, Obama will just give them a damned bomb.

After almost 13 years of no consequences, the Iranians have no fear they will be attacked or have any meaningful action taken against them. They really don’t care if there is a deal, since they have no intention of honoring it anyway.
