I’m sure Colofornian will be along shortly to bash the Mormons for some reason or another.

Office of First President & Living Prophet®:

December 11st, 2011

URGENT!

Fellow MORMON Freeper Christians!!

I've been getting lots of feedback from those of you on Free Republic (spit) about a certain Colorfornicator (or something like that), who is REALLY giving us a hard time there.

Why not try to point out to the uninformed how OBSESSED he seems to be.

Let's see if we can tangle him up so much trying to defend his reputation that he'll no longer have as much time to post facts about MORMONism.

As always, Tommy M.

However, I am loathe to pull WBill Jr out of Cub Scouts over it, because he would look at it as a punishment, and wouldn’t understand.

Then your job; as a parent; is to MAKE him understand.

You wouldn't let him play in traffic; and you wouldn't care if he 'understood' or not when you jerked him from harm's way!

The real problem is that the boys are seeking role models at this age. Many have no men in their lives or their own dad is too busy. I think gays are too confused about their own identity to be role models. Especially role models for being a man.

Technically it is against it.

Will they choose to perform queer marriages if faced with the loss of tax exempt status? Which churches do you believe will “cave”?

The sheep and the goats are about to be separated.

The LDS Church has a long history of changing key doctrine to align with public opinion

Key doctrines? Key?

Long history?

You do love your hyperbole don't you?

As you know it’s kind of a moot point as long as the BSA doesn’t try to force on us who we have to chose to be a scout leader and who isn’t.

Scouting leaders are called to that position by the ward Bishop. No one can apply for that position.

The lds church certainly doesn’t need bsa. Watch to see them enroll their boys in a good new or alternate scouting type organization.

We'll create our own program.

I think so too. My son only has his project to do to get his Eagle. I’m pushing him to hurry before the program changes and BSA is dropped.

“Following recent court actions regarding same-sex marriage, the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles today sent the following instructions and guidance to congregational leaders throughout the United States. Leaders were asked to share this information with their members in appropriate settings.”

“Marriage between a man and a woman was instituted by God and is central to His plan for His children and for the well-being of society. Strong families, guided by a loving mother and father, serve as the fundamental institution for nurturing children, instilling faith, and transmitting to future generations the moral strengths and values that are important to civilization and crucial to eternal salvation.”

“Changes in the civil law do not, indeed cannot, change the
moral law that God has established.” —Official Statement

20 years ago I was a teenager and nothing like this would have been considered in BSA. So I guess we’re both right about this shameful state of affairs.

Yup. We both know where this is headed. And not just the BSA thing, but pretty much all walks of life until it's worse than Sodom.

Stand ye in holy places right? :)

I just think various churches should make their own members-only equivalent of Scouting, such as you said. Being a member of the scouting organization means being also a member of said religious group. Basically, I agree with what you suggested earlier.

So basically, the troop is a church-run organization?

Do you denominations?

I think it will be up to the individual pastors of the separate congregations in denominations.

No defense; just 4 questions in response to an assertion.

Long history?

Mr. Millet:

I don't think we can ever transcend Joseph Smith or consider him to be a valued personality, but now we'll move on.
I don't think you'll see that among believers in the faith, because there are too many other things that came from him
that are the reasons why we do what we do and we are what we are. That there are unanswered questions, to be sure.
That there are things that I'm as anxious as the next guy to learn more detail on, I really want to know. But in the interim,
it really doesn't, doesn't trouble me.
We're in the religion-making business, as you intimated earlier, only for a short time, I mean, compared to the
Christian church, which has been at this for a couple of millennia. We're about halfway to Nicaea.
And so, and so in that sense — I remember a very tender moment. I was speaking with — I've been invited
to the Salt Lake Theological Seminary, basically an Evangelical seminary, to discuss a book I had done on Jesus.
And they had read it, and they wanted me to come and just respond to questions.
And it was, it was a very enjoyable couple of hours.

The very last question that was asked by one of my friends there was this one.

He said, 'Bob, what can we do for you?'

And I, I wasn't ready for that question. I said, 'What do you mean?'

He said, 'What can we, as Evangelicals, do for our Mormon friends?'

And I, I guess my mind could have gone a hundred different ways, but what I came back with was this.

I said, 'Boy, I appreciate you asking that. I don't think I've ever been asked that.'

But, but I said, 'Try this. Cut us a little slack, will you? Give us a little time.
We're in the religion-making business, and this takes time. It takes centuries.

And, and trying to explain the faith and articulate the faith, that doesn't come over night.
We've really only been about that for 20 or 30 years.'
