Great analysis by Megan!
She indeed speaks the truth. It is those who try to say the war was "all about slavery" who are the "revisionists" because that war could not possibly have been about slavery. It was about money, and the North's greed and quest for empire.

I don’t think this is Megan Kelly’s official website. Someone is pulling a fast one.

Big fan of Megyn Kelly but the argument that the Confederate flag was a symbol of rebellion to tyranny amuses me.
What is more tyrannical than slavery?
Oh. Right, right, riiiiiiiight. The Civil War was not about slavery. It was about opposing tyranny. We want to be free to enslave our fellow man!

I oppose the Confederate Flag because it represents another country. I don’t like seeing the Mexican flag flying here in The U.S. and I doubt you see many US flags flying in Great Britainistan.

Fantastic article. Should be read and studied by every student in Jr. High, High School AND College. But, alas, those institutions are run by racist liberals.

South Carolina's own
Articles of Secession don't agree with you - the main reason given for secession is because of the North's refusal to return escaped slaves, which South Carolina declares to be sufficient grounds to dissolve the Union. The same fixation with the issue of slavery is found in the secession declarations of multiple Confederate states.

To say that southern states did not have the right to secede from the United States is to say that the thirteen colonies did not have the right to secede from Great Britain. One cannot be right and the other wrong. If one is right, both are right. 1) Ireland seceded from the British empire
2) Norway seceded from Sweden
3) Texas seceded from Mexico
4) Portugal seceded from Spanish rule
5) Panama seceded from Columbia

These ships were built in New England...someone should get the history of "trade" all "trade" correct...Northern colonies made the ships that brought indentured people to the Southern states.....the Northern Negros had slaves as well as Native Americans had slaves etc. In some parts of the world, there is slavery today. But for the race pimps and activists, this part of early colonial history would be put to rest.

Civil War history and the Confederate Battle Flag aside, a moral, freedom minded people have a right to rebellion against tyranny. Therefore, regardless what scholars, courts or office holders declare throughout our history, states have a right to secede. Period.
A Union bent on totalitarianism should suffer a spilt from its states seeking sovereignty if the cause is just. Our Republic is increasingly becoming corrupted and undeniably in a decline. Don't think for a minute it couldn't happen again. If this federal government arbitrarily determines what is applicable in the U.S. Constitution and what is not for their own purposes, it deserves what it gets.

The thing people seem to misunderstand is that though nations, including our own, declare independence from another nation. That other nation may have a desire for them to stay.
The United States won its’ fight for independence. The Confederate States never did win their independence and where invaded and subjugated by the Northern States.
It is one thing to declare yourself independent it is wholly different attaining independence.

I have not looked to see any evidence of the articles mentioned being true but it is only common sense that the loser of the war is not going to be the one who writes the officially history.
I have always been Leary of believing the war was about slavery simply because people do not change.
It has been many years since I traveled all over the U.S but when I did I found the people in the south, both black and white a much kinder and generous people than the police mentality retards in the north..

For years I have told people that the war was over tariffs and the freedom of states to succeed and that Lincoln was not for freeing slaves and they look at me as though I have three eyes and horns.
