Subway has been struggling for some time, its health-oriented campaigns falling flat with consumers....

Subway is a privately held chain and does not post its profits. But according to the market research firm Technomic, sales dropped 3 percent in the U.S. last year, or around $400 million. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.....

Another Obama success:

Michelle Obama becomes Subway’s newest celeb partner

This was January of last year....and I have not given a DIME to Subway since.

Someday, maybe, these business people will think about the customer and not the fascists in the Democrat party.

I was going to point out their alliance with the Mooch, as well.

Will not consider Subway as a meal option ever again.

Where do the marketing geniuses in these companies come from?

Jared has always creeped me out.

The health campaign has always seemed wrong. Bascially, it’s “come in and pay for a sandwich with cheese and mayo, but if you actually make us put them on your sandwich, you’re gonna get fat and die.”

Making Chewbama a spokesman was a mistake.

But the thing that finally made me give up Subway forever was when I got a meatball sub and all of the meatballs had been cut in half so I only got half of the meat that I used to get. I asked the Indian store owner about it and he told me that “they’ve always been like that, but I can pay for extra meat and get twice as many meatballs”. I told him to keep it and left.

Well, it could be because their quality and prices have gone to crap over the past decade (plus), and people have figures out that they can get a better sandwich at a better price from any neighborhood deli.

I did likewise. They aren't really great subs, but my lunch hour dining choices were rather limited, and Subway was one of the better options. Nonetheless, I sucked it up by not chowing down at a MOTUS-approved chain.

Subway is basically a collaborator with our fascist overlords. Trust me, the company received some sort of benefit for kissing Moo’s butt here. There has been political/regulatory pressure of some kind on a lot of these entities are catering to Moochelle.

I used to be a fan of Subway till I found out how unhealthy their food really is. Even the supposedly healthy options have considerable amounts of fat, sodium and mystery ingredients. Sometime look at the nutritional information. It’s an eye opener.

I am with you. Subway is the closest fast meal to my house and I haven’t been there since. I am not going to support anyone on the fascist bandwagon.

I never could figure out how a healthy meal included soda and potato chips.

It's always amazed me the restaurants think they can get away with selling garbage for food and not lose business...

At one time Subways meats they used were half way decent...looked and tasted like sliced meat...not top grade, but decent cuts...

Today they are basically watered down processed crap...

Yeah, two dollars is a heck of a price for a six inch sub, but if it tastes like crap, how much value in it is there really...

Subway can solve their problems by raising their prices and make a decent tasting sub...

Low fat does not equal weight loss. You’ll never see a skinny person pushing a grocery cart full of low fat food. People don’t go to Subway, McDonalds, Wendy’s etc to lose weight and those restaurants know that. The fascists in the WH have dictated this.

Even after they supposedly took the yoga mat material out of their bread, I never ate there again.

Subway 7sed to be a ‘cool’ place to go...hard to explain why, but it was trendy. For those of us not living in NYC, the subway station tiles and wall maps of the original subway system were unique. And young teenagers usually worked there.

Now, the subway systek maps are gone...or so subdued you can’t read them. The subway station look has given way to the faux wood and industrial look that other ‘fast casual’ places have. And the workers are no longer bright eyed teenagers...more of the ‘rode hard and put away wet’ crowd.

The final straw for me was a swarm of flies by the soda machine. I still don’t understand why there were so many flies...and why nobody was doing anything about it. The employees didn’t seem to notice.

We quit going to Subway when the ones in our area quit hiring anyone whose first language was obviously not English, nor were the majority of their patrons - same reason we stopped going to Sonic. Just too difficult to understand and I have never adjusted to any place where you best order by item number. My kids liked to stop at Subway when they traveled because they preferred being able to actually see their sandwich being prepared.

For me Jimmy Johns put them out of business. Plus Subwy is not fast food.

Now, Panera would be my go to.
