California Gov. Jerry Brown announced Thursday that he will travel to Vatican City later this month to discuss climate change and modern slavery with dignitaries including Pope Francis as the governor seeks to burnish his legacy as a climate change activist.

Brown, a former Jesuit seminarian, plans to attend a two-day event starting July 21 hosted by the Pontifical Academies of Sciences and Social Sciences.

The focus is on two issues highlighted in the pope's recent teaching document, called an encyclical, in which he chastised international lawmakers for failing to adopt effective, long-term policies that would protect the environment and help those who suffer most from global warming.

The Vatican event will be attended by the pope, representatives of the United Nations and mayors and governors from around the world, the governor's office said.

Seems like Moonbeam and the Pope could find some other more important moral issues to discuss!

That issue has been resolved. Time to move on to more tyrannical issues.

Isn’t the Pope coming to Philly in a few months?

I wouldn’t be surprised if the crowds were largely made up of homosexual tree huggers instead of the Catholic faithful.

I STILL haven’t heard him concerned about saving souls and/or coming to the Cross for Salvation. Or maybe that gets lost in translation.

Hey Moonbeam you and Pope Mother Earth should spend some time on the knees and pray for rain instead. That’s the climate change most needed right now for your sadly run state.

Or maybe that gets lost in translation.

Yep. The pope has horrible translators, from leftist to English.

A meeting of the minds but to half wits don’t make a whole. Francis is a disgrace to the office he occupies. Elections co have consequences.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?
