Please excuse the vanity but I've been looking around for an answer to this and I can't find one.
A picture of this flag was on Special Report last night and I was puzzled by the number of stars.
The traditional Confederate naval ensign has 13 stars, this one has 17.
Is this legit or another mess-up by the outraged but poorly informed left?

That flag looks like if enough people are on one side of it the flag could flip over and everyone on it would drown. Ok, I’m just kidding, that would be a stupid thing to say. What I meant to say is that is the flag that the astronauts left on Mars. That’s what I meant to say. No — wait! - I meant to say that we must run the flag up the flag pole before we know what kind of flag it is. That’s not right either, I was actually going to say “at this point what difference does it make?!” But that’s not even exactly right, I meant to say that that flag is usually held up by a corpseMAN and is the flag for the 57 state. Yea, that’s the ticket! That’s what I meant! It’s all part of the 3 letter word - FLAGS!
