Ted Cruz: Gay Marriage Ruling Will Spark A ‘Raging Inferno’

During a Fourth of July celebration at the Rock Springs Church in Milner, Georgia, Ted Cruz lambasted the Supreme Court for its recent ruling on marriage equality.
Cruz hoped, however, that the court’s decision would prompt a massive backlash, in remarks posted by the conservative website Red Kudzu: “It is my hope that that marriage decision serves as a spark to start a fire that becomes a raging inferno and an awakening that sweeps this country as the body of Christ rise up to defend the values that have built America into this great nation that we are.”
He also noted that many Republican politicians responded to the decision by “publicly issuing critical statements and privately going in the backroom popping champagne and celebrating.”

Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |

("One man with a gun can control a hundred without one." -- Vladimir Lenin)
Homosexuality is a behavior and service is refused based on behavior all the time. Lawyers choose the clients they want to represent based on behavior restaurants may choose not to allow smoking or alcohol (legal behaviors). Businesses impose dress codes on patrons and refuse to allow patrons who wear T-shirts containing messages that they see as repugnant. This is not just an issue for religious beliefs and we should not allow others to frame the argument as such. There are many
secular arguments against gay marriage but it seems there is an agenda to frame this as merely archaic Christian intolerance. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. did not ask people to turn away from the Bible because of racial intoreance he told them to turn to the Bible in order to stop racial intoreance and it worked.
America is now being asked to accept gay marriage as normal and healthy. No one - not Moses, Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad, Aquinas, Gandhi, not the Bible or the Koran or any other sacred text, nor even a single anti-religious secular thinker of the Enlightenment -- ever advocated redefining marriage to include members of the same sex. Beyond this, to now say homosexual marriage is right is to say all secular and religious icons in our past were wrong. We are saying in a time of Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and hotdog-crust-stuffed-pizza that we have reached an enlightenment no other culture before us ever attained - and that we can now proclaim that all the great thinkers throughout history were intolerant bigots due to the decision of 5 activist judges.
- Childhood obesity is a behavior that society is trying to prevent do to heath reasons yet homosexual behavior also has very adverse health risks but now it will be taught as natural to school children why?
- We are being told that homosexual behavior is natural because it occurs in nature yet incest and rape occurs in nature at a much higher rate so does the fact that it occurs in nature make it OK?
- Since the military passed Dont ask dont tell for homosexual behavior rape has gone up drastically and men are reporting more cases of sexual abuse than women.
- There is a large number of homosexuals in Hollywood where pedophilia has been a problem. ( Same is true for Catholic priests )
- Busness owners are allowed to not hire smokers due to increased health costs but the same argument can be made for not hiring homosexuals.
- Gay marriage can result in gay parenting. Adults who grew up in gay households are speaking out against gay marriage and explaining the adverse effect it had on their lives.
We cannot let people frame this as a Christian problem. The current hate, hypocracy, and bigotry is not coming from Christians
even when military service was involuntary, we still made room for conscientious objectors who did not want to carry weapons. If we can allow people to exempt themselves from defending the countrywhich is the most important responsibility our government haswe can certainly allow people to exempt themselves from performing same-sex wedding ceremonies!

Ben Franklin said it best during questioning by the house of commons about how to proceed with the stamp act..
Q. Can anything less than a military force carry the Stamp Act into execution?
A. I do not see how a military force can be applied to that purpose.
Q. Why may it not?
A. Suppose a military force sent into America; they will find nobody in arms; what are they then to do? They cannot force a man to take stamps who chooses to do without them. They will not find a rebellion; they may indeed make one.
