I saw the interview, and noted that she used the word “permitted” rather than the word “legal”. She didn’t say what she did was legal, she said it was permitted.

This is Clintonian word parsing, such as Bill Clinton defining the word “is” for us. For Hillary to talk about something being permitted, meant that nobody in authority called her out on this, and told her she was violating the law.

There was an instance that I recall her saying that “there’s really no evidence of that” when she could have said that issue X never happened.
