First in with... do you suppose the F16 was trying to take out the other plane?
SC Ping
I’m going to assume that the F16 was on a military air route and wasn’t maneuvering inside airspace restricted to civilian aircraft... The C150 is obviously not at fault here as it is too slow to have come up on the F16,,, this is the equivalent of hitting a pedestrian in the crosswalk without even slowing down... My bet is that the F16 driver had his head inside the cockpit and not scanning outside.
Literally, a near miss.
Must have been a Stealth Cessna.
Years ago my Brother and a Friend were Flying a Cessna 337 to San Diego from Van Nuys. They were flying along the Coast and were in contact with ATC on their planned Flight Path.
My Brother was in the right seat and he saw a glint of something coming in from the Ocean. It was a Military Jet Fighter and when they realized what was happening, they figured that was it.
The Military Jet Pilot thankfully saw them in time and pulled up in plenty of time. They did encounter some Turbulence after he passed over them, but there was no soiled Underwear. They were sitting Ducks and very lucky.

A Shaw AFB F-16 fighting falcon crashed today near Joint Base Charleston at 11:30 a.m. The pilot on board is accounted for.
This tragedy occurred because the state legislature has not been acting fast enough to remove the Confederate Battle Flag from the capitol grounds.
Thinking about it, in this Mid Air Collision it is a Miracle that the F-16 Pilot survived unless he punched out right before the Collision or it was a glancing blow that gave him enough time. Yeah, I know, it would have been one hell of a glancing blow.
I’m not an F-16 Pilot, nor do I play one of TV. No, I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. In other words, pure speculation on my part. LOL
It will be interesting when the facts come out.
