Weird how the states plan on revenues on a declining base of users. Guess that’s why they try to keep raising the rates. And in the case here in NV they DID raise the tax rates. And I do know a couple of folks who have reached the tipping point for quitting.

I live in a 20-unit apartment complex. About 1/3 are older folks and 2/3 are younger singles or families.
I notice that many of the young households have at least one smoker.
I thought all the years of educating from the Tobacco Settlement money 2 decades ago would be the end of cigs. [/s]
I quit in 2003 after nearly 40 years of smoking. At today's prices, I figure I save around $250-300 per month. Increased prices, primarily due to increased taxes, was instrumental my quitting.
