Donald Trump Is Not Just A Clown, He’s A Liberal Anti-Gun Clown
Downtrend.com ^ | June 17, 2015 | Brian Anderson

The big joke Tuesday was that comb-over reality TV star Donald Trump announced that he’s running for president in 2016 as a Republican. As if it isn’t funny enough that he’s given hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Democratic Party and the Clinton Foundation, he also said he wants Oprah Winfrey as his VP. And just in case you aren’t convinced of his conservative credentials, it turns out he’s left quite a liberal footprint of anti-gun, pro-abortion, redistribution of wealth, Obam-esque socialism.

Back in 2000 The Don was flirting with running for president as a Reform Party candidate...

Here’s what he wrote about gun control:

"It’s often argued that the American murder rate is high because guns are more available here than in other countries... This is another issue where you see the extremes of the two existing major parties. Democrats want to confiscate all guns, which is a dumb idea because only the law-abiding citizens would turn in their guns and the bad guys would be the only ones left armed. The Republicans walk the NRA line and refuse even limited restrictions. I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons."

...

Elsewhere in Trump’s manifesto he takes the very liberal position of murdering unborn babies:

"There are some issues I don’t want to say much about. I support a woman’s right to choose, for example, but I am uncomfortable with the procedures. When Tim Russert asked me on Meet the Press if I would ban partial-birth abortion if I were president, my pro-choice instincts led me to say no."

Socialized medicine:

"We need, as a nation, to reexamine the single-payer plan, as many individual states are doing."

"Donald Trump on the Second Amendment and AR-15’s"

Transcript:

13C: Mr Trump, Joe with 13C Gun Reviews.

Trump: Hi, How are you?

13C: Well. Would you agree that like the printing the press is to modern day internet and other forms of media, television and what not, that an AR-15 would be the same to a musket and deserve the same protection under the Second Amendment?

Trump: Well, I’m all for the Second Amendment, I think it’s amazing. I think, I just walked through the floor, my sons, as you probably saw, are life time members of the NRA.

13C: That’s Excellent.

Trump: So they know every gun ever thought about, let alone produced. But, I’m a bit fan of the Second Amendment and the NRA and what it represents.

13C: and that would include things like AR-15’s?

Trump: Sure.

13C: Thank you

What else did you expect, as most voters are not too bright to begin with. And just because Donald has a lot of money it doesn’t always equate with an equal amount of common sense. In some things, perhaps financially yes, in others he leaves something to be desired.

Not to mention his big mouth and his brain which appear to operate on two different levels. Oh well for being a human that’s to be expected as no one is without fault, including Donald.

The man has money for a god. He is capable of saying or doing anything. Conservitive he is not. Opportunist is more like it.

He can and will say anything to convince whoever will listen that he is not the same anti-gun liberal he has always been.

Never trust a liberal.

Except the first sentence butts the whole thing.

“Donald Trump and Mayor Michael Bloomberg may not see eye-to-eye on gun control, “

If he manages to get the nomination, which is actually looking increasingly possible, I will have no problem voting for him and I won’t be terribly worried about the second amendment which is actually my primary issue. We survived President Obama. We don’t need to worry about a President Trump. What’s more, trumps protectionist philosophies have got to be very appealing to more Democrats than the Democratic party cares to think about.

“The low info freepers backing this phallus is more distressing.”

I’m pretty sure most “freepers” know that Trump is left of center on most of the social issues but he’s right about the problem of trade and illegal immigration. I applaud him for taking the heat and addressing the issues.

The actions of his critics are duly noted.

Yet he praised him for trying to take our guns.

He is also on record as saying he wanted to ban the fictional "assault weapon" having obviously been stupid enough to buy into the Dianne Feinstein created myth that they exist. They don't, of course, as that was/is just a ploy by the left to ban guns based on cosmetic appearances and he fell for it.

No thanks to all gun grabbers including those who pretend to be pro 2nd Amendment during election cycles.

Nah Trump was being "nice" protecting his business interests.

If you haven't noticed lately, Trump businesses are being attacked from ESPN to mattress firms since the start of his campaign.

Your article goes further about Trumps views on the 2nd Amendment.

As for himself [Trump], however, Trump argued, “I always say you have to take the guns away from the bad guys but that is not going to happen.” He deemed himself a “gun person” who champions the Second Amendment for the sake of protection. “You know, if there was ever kind of law passed where people turn in their guns,” he posited, “the good people are going to turn their guns in and bad people are not.”

Trump is not going after guns to say the least.

Might as well state his major planks for you. Border security, national security including a strong military, economy and jobs, policing.

The low info Freepers backing this phallus is more distressing.

Most Freepers aren't backing Trump; they're just glad to see him in the mix, speaking his mind candidly without the standard Establishment PC filtering.

For this reason, Trump makes elites of both major parties uncomfortable. I, for one, however, find it quite refreshing to see a public figure who is running for President express his opinions with little or no regard for political correctness.

Donal Trump obviously holds many positions which don't jibe with conservative Republican stances. Nonetheless, I think he will stimulate candid debate on many issues which would otherwise be avoided by both major parties due to their hysterical collective fear of offending one group or another.

Trump has already expanded the framework within which the topic of immigration is being debated, and even if it means that the discussion will become a bit "coarser", I think his presence is a net positive, resulting in a more robust national debate moving forward into this upcoming Presidential election cycle.

I don't know what is truly in the man's heart conncerning the 2nd Amendment, but here's what he told Breitbart News back in April:

On April 11 Breitbart News spoke with Trump, and he told us then, “It is so important that we maintain the Second Amendment and that we maintain it strongly. And one of the main reasons is because the good people, the upstanding people, follow laws and norms, but the bad ones don’t.”

He explained that gun control laws do not impact criminals, because criminals “couldn’t care less.”

He then stressed, “It is absolutely imperative that we maintain the Second Amendment in its strongest form.”

Expect to see a lot more hit pieces on Trump (and posts from new guys attacking Trump). The GOPe is definitely out to get him. The Democrats, on the other hand, will likely hold most of their fire for the moment.

This is not to say that Trump hasn’t said/done some liberal things in the past, but this isn’t the first time we Republicans have been presented with candidates who have “evolved” on the issues. We were repeatedly told Romney was a solid conservative for example (we knew different), but the GOPe commentators certainly had his back.

One more thing: regardless of whether or not Trump is liberal on SOME issues, is he correct on others, like illegal immigration? I say yes.
