Now you're neing Micro-Aggressive. Shame, shame... ;-)
And here I was shooting for full fledged “in their face” aggressive. Oh well... = :^
We were the ones who would direct ASW aircraft and ASW helos in the prosecution of a submarine contact in war time.
We were warned that qualification as an ASAC would mean that we would likely NEVER be considered for civilian Air Traffic Control. Like the Air Defense Controllers our job was to bring things TOGETHER rather than keep them apart. For some reason, that training was very difficult to unlearn.
It was a great school but by the time we were done I knew I did not want to be an ATC. I have a lot of respect for those guys. A very high pucker factor for that job.

With affirmative action, hiring the most qualified was never the goal or the result. Fire and police departments quickly come to mind.
It is an unfortunate smear on those minorities who were/are truly qualified.
We all see how well that's working out.
If they want fair practice, then there should be more white men on the Supreme Court.
This is a scary shame. I worked extensively with the FAA during my former life and an aircraft design engineer. They were one of the only agencies that actually employed people that know the industry and are not flexing to political pressure. I wonder what Obama forced on them because they are a stubborn bunch. I do not feel safer knowing that young Trayvon can get out of jail and go in to the air traffic control school to further “diversity.”
