The growing movement to find new appellations for buildings, landmarks and even bodies of water named after Confederate leaders has finally expanded to reach Woodrow Wilson, America’s 28th president, a model progressive Democrat and a world-class racist scumbag.

All schools should just be named “Progressive Youth Indoctrination Center #xxx”. School colors can be grey and black. The mascot can be a circle with the school number in the center.

I have never liked the idea things being named after politicians. It somehow reminds me of false idols. Every successive generation comes along and changes the names to glorify themselves.
LBJ was a despicable corrupt politician who may have been complicit in murder. His name should be stricken throughout the country.
When these kinds of snowballs start rolling downhill, they get to the point of absurdity.
Everyone who is offended over something complains to get the object of their offense changed. Ironically, most of these kinds of complaints come from outsiders or people new to an area.
Whether it be the Confederate flag or the Washington Red Skins name, the complainers usually have no direct attachment to the object of their ire.
My Father’s first name was Wilson. He was born in 1914 so I would guess he was named after Woodrow Wilson. Funny thing is he was a staunch conservative. One of my grandsons and one of my sister’s grandsons were also named Wilson in honour of my Father regardless if he was named after Woodrow Wilson.
I’m still waiting for the Dixie Chicks to change their racist name.

That’s why I went to gray and black as the school colors. We can’t have microagressions in the Brave New World.
