I don't think that's what the rope is all about. I think and I believe a reported said it...that it was to pace her for the mile long trek. I'll bet there were a few docs within 25 feet of her and people around her in the event she falls.

Roping off reporters simply doesn't make sense. They know the rules.

On another thread there was a picture of the rope actually around a group of several people. Very stupid thing to do.
