Does your church ban gay marriage? Then it should start paying taxes.

It’s difficult to see how the nationwide legalization of gay marriage could have any kind of significant negative repercussions for anybody who’s not gay. Difficult – but not impossible. Because now that the US government formally recognizes marriage equality as a fundamental right, it really shouldn’t skew the tax code so as to give millions of dollars in tax breaks to groups which remain steadfastly bigoted on the subject.

I’m talking, of course, about churches.

To paraphrase Churchill, the SCOTUS ruling was not the end but the end of the beginning. Or Rod Dreher's Law of Merited Impossibility: “It’s a complete absurdity to believe that Christians will suffer a single thing from the expansion of gay rights, and boy, do they deserve what they’re going to get.”

So God is a bigot? God, and Jesus, are both full of bigotry and hatred? This is what they’re saying.

What about mosques? Should they pay taxes too? Who’s going to collect them?

The battle was about ‘marriage,’ the goal is the destruction of religion.

The left always says it’s not okay to hate evil. How dare anyone be “bigoted” against evil.

Sure we’ll pay taxes but don’t expect us to bake you cakes or help you out when you’re in need anymore because we no longer have the funds. The Left are such idiots.

Let me see if I understand this..

A man and a woman show up at a Catholic church: "Hi. My name is Bob and this is my fiancée Betty. We are both life long Baptists but we just love this pretty Catholic church. It is so beautiful. We want to be married here!"

Father: "I am sorry. Unless you become Catholics, we can't conduct the service here. It would go against foundation of our faith."

Baptist couple: "Ok" leaves.

Gay couple: "Hi. My name is Reginald and this is my partner Rolando. We are both Catholics and we want to be married here."

Father: "Where as you are both welcome to attend mass as Catholics, we cannot conduct same-sex marriage. It goes against the foundation of our faith."

Gay couple: "Release the hounds!!!!"

Which will harden him in his point of view, and convince him that he was right, and that he is justified in punishing objectors.

That's the way "tolerance" works in liberal-land.

“So sorry Bruce and Bruce, our minister is no longer licensed to perform marriages. As members of our congregation the elders review all requests for matrimonial blessing services to determine whether the recipients of the sacrament are in good standing with the doctrine of our beliefs. “

This.

It will be liberating for the churches to peel away from officiating what is a government licensed activity and an excuse for a party for far too many and return to performing wedding blessings
