Backers of Boston 2024 ought to make buying the Boston Globe building a part of their latest plan to win the Olympic Summer Games for Boston.
Purchase of the Morrissey Boulevard building in Dorchester, which is up for sale, would allow the leaders of Boston 2024 to use the centrally located facility as its official, rather than its assumed, Olympic headquarters

the New York Times (haters of all things American)
owns the Boston Globe and could not care less
about the impact on the people footing the bill.
I guess with the Big Dig completed the city fathers in Boston need a new source of graft.
I am reluctant to post this. There are some things even the French don't deserve.
The big dig is within the living memory of every voter in Massachusetts. The Olympics ain't gonna happen here in my lifetime.
Please God, do not let the Olmpics come to Mass. Traffic is horrible as it is. Che don’t need a new stadium. I don’t want tourists flocking out to Western Ma.
What a corrupt cluster duck that would be.
The Slimes dumped that money pit a few years ago. They sold it to Red Sox principal owner John Henry for about nine cents on the dollar for what they paid for it a few years earlier.
Henry is a real-estate investor, the Globe is worth more dead than alive. The real-estate it occupies is worth more than he paid for the papers. (It came with a couple of other smaller New England papers.) Henry basically tells the employees of the papers, “Strike, quit, do whatever you want.”, since none of the papers is making money and he does not intend to bail them out. He probably figures in three to five years he can close them all. The Slimes almost closed the Globe when reporters threatened a labor action. The Slimes said, “Adios, Vaya con dios, amigos.”
He’s only keeping them alive for public image consumption, and they know it. Once they start to bleed real money, he’ll board it up.
sounds like someone is trying to pitch the sale of a property.
since the left is big on eminent domain, Mass should just confiscate the property and toss the NYTimes a box of beads for compensation. then bulldoze it to insure a natural habitat for the black-capped chickadee
I work right across the street. What a frickin’ disaster that would be.
UMass Boston’s Chancellor is all over this. Word is that he wants some of the athlete dorms to be built on campus. After the games, the UMass campus would magically have their first dorms.......
