Tunisian investigators believe the suspected accomplices provided the Kalashnikov assault rifle to Rezgui and helped him get to the scene, Mr Ali Aroui told AP.

He added that police were questioning Rezgui's father and three roommates, although he did not say any of them were suspected of involvement in the attack

"Maybe he was changed where he studied, maybe it was something on the internet. But we just don't have any answers," he added.

Tunisian authorities say army reservists will be deployed to tourist sites and that around 80 mosques accused of inciting violence will be closed within a week.

80 mosques inciting violence? I never would have guessed there were that many. /s

Why do tourists go to Tunisia in this day and age? That’s just the height of stupidity. You have Spain, Italy, France, Croatia on the Adriatic, the Caribbean, millions of choices. Why go where they do this kind of thing?

I said this before on a previous thread. There was a time when the British reaction to something like this would be like nothing the natives had ever seen.

Not anymore.

North African destinations are cheap. European tourists go there on budget tours, especially the Brits, who are always trying to escape their miserable weather.

Most of those tourists were not very well off, and in some cases the entire family had chipped in to send them on the trip as an anniversary present or something like that. Poor things.

Sad. RyanAir to Spain is really, really cheap, and the hotels in places like San Sebastian and Valencia are cheap, too. No need to hang out with the muzzles, even if it is a few pounds cheaper. I can’t imagine that this event is not being treated as a major story, it is being downplayed in the US press. 30 Brits, 40 or 50 Europeans total, and the biggest thing here is gay pictures on Facebook.
