The problem is not the VA, the problem, as always, is the corrupt people put into management positions.
My VA clinic and hospital are A-1, great people, great service.
The cataract surgery I underwent was top-notch, from the cafeteria food to the nurses and surgeons.
Also, Arthur, the VA is not only about healthcare, it's is a way for veterans to obtain their first home at a reasonable rate so they can become part of the American dream.
And VA educational benefits, although reduced since I was in the 60's-70's help these same veterans find and pursue a career path after honorable service.
On the other hand, obamascare is an entirely different animal.
It is purposely set up not as a healthcare system, but as a means of control of the sheeple.
The VA healthcare system isn't perfect by any means, but at least it's a reasonable example of how government treats some of it's citizens.
Excellent point. Like with anything else it depends on the management of a particular facility. You can not dump it all in one pot
You sound just like those people who know that government schools are a vast boondoggle, a playground of corruption, indoctrination centers run by Reds, except that OUR government school is just great, a thriving community center, our kids just love it, etc.
There is no reason for the V.A. to be running hospitals. Vets should get money, as part of their compensation, and get their health care from the private sector. (There shouldn’t BE any other kind of health care.)
