Except in increasingly rare instances and by increasingly rare exceptional individuals (and I'm not sure one exists today), even "conservative" politicians place political expedience over defense of the Constitution and of conservative principles.

The self-described "conservatives" we have today defend the Constitution and traditional American values only when it's convenient to do so -- that is, when it doesn't take too much time from their primary goal of amassing power.

“10th Amendment doesn’t apply?”

I am pretty sure the 10th has been ruled null and void.
Now they are working on the first and second. After they are eliminated the other 7 of the Bill O Rights will be pretty easy.
